This position may be extended or become permanent.

Lead Independent Workplace Investigations: Develop and execute strategic investigative plans to address misconduct, policy violations, and complex personnel issues, ensuring fairness, timeliness, and compliance.

Deliver Clear, Actionable Findings: Produce detailed investigative reports and recommendations, keeping leadership informed and driving corrective or preventative actions.

Collaborate Across Units & Agencies: Work closely with internal departments and external agencies to ensure coordinated, legally sound investigations and organizational alignment.

Serve as Legal and Policy Expert: Act as a subject matter expert on HR policies, employment laws, and internal procedures; provide testimony and expert insight during hearings and proceedings.

Drive Inclusive HR Improvements: Support diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts while contributing to the development and implementation of effective HR policies and personnel initiatives.

Working Conditions

Travel throughout the State of California to various CCC centers and work locations to conduct investigations.

Conditions include but are not limited to daily access to and use of a personal computer and telephone. Sitting and standing requirements are consistent with office work. During activities while in the field, the incumbent may be exposed to extreme weather conditions, dirt, odor, noise, fumes, uneven surfaces, extreme weather conditions, and fast-moving equipment.

This position is classified as “Hybrid” and is currently eligible for up to three days of telework per week, with a minimum of two days of in-office work.

The reporting location for this position is at CCC HQ located at 1719 24th Street, Sacramento, CA 95816.
